A surgical procedure performed to repair achilles tendon (a fibrous connective tissue which connects calf and heel). Through an incision in back of the ankle, the affected achilles tendon is removed. The affected area is repaired and reinforced (strengthened). The incisions are sewn together and a splint/boot brace is attached to the leg.
